Police have a centralized organization in Taiwan, and the Criminal Investigation Bureau basically constitutes the national detective division. Accomplishments:
Successfully adapted forensic photography into digital imaging domain
Developed digital techniques for enhancement and restoration of fingerprints, as well as video images from surveillance and ATM cameras
Expanded the use of digital techniques in the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Assigned and supervised work crews to hundreds of nationwide criminal cases in forensic identification in photos or video images. Roughly ten percent of the cases handled by me involved computer crime. In general, my cases involved crime scene investigations, detailed identification reports, and resulting in criminal prosecutions and convictions. My subordinates and I solved hundreds of cases involving kidnapping, robbery, homicide, and hit-and-run through the enhancement of surveillance video tapes
Provided forensic digital imaging services to national police forces, courts and ministries
Trained many police officers nationwide to update their knowledge of forensic photography and digital imaging, including such topics as the installation of surveillance cameras to meet requirements in law enforcement
